SuziCate's Musings

The Old Couple

old house and tree in Smithfield

It’s been so long they

forgot who came first.

Outliving family after family

has its downfalls…You

learn to live on memories

of spirit, love, and laughter.

You come to depend on the

one who has stood by your side.

Time echoes through the walls

as branches stretch for one last hug.

  1. I often think that old houses contain so many memories. Stories of all the life lived there. You’ve captured this thought so beautifully in words and image.

  2. We have a series of pictures of abandoned homes and businesses. We call the collection ‘Somebody’s Dream’. Dreams that were worked, saved and sometimes died for are embodied in homes such as the one in your picture. Oh, the memories of the dreamers. Great post.
